The beat is defence technology specifically: AI in defence, autonomous systems and drones, next-generation weapons, and the conflicts where that hardware actually turns up downrange. Ten minutes or less, daily, plus short clips through the day.

The editorial rule is the whole product. Facts are delivered straight and analysis is labelled as analysis, out loud, so a listener always knows which one they are hearing. On a subject where a confident guess is indistinguishable from reporting, that separation is not a stylistic preference.

It runs on the same pipeline as Open Scoring MMA, forked once that show proved out, with the fact-checking stage tightened for a topic where being wrong matters more. Every claim clears verification before an episode can be approved, and anything that cannot be verified is hedged, cut, or held.

Editorially it sits centre-right and says so, on the grounds that a stated position is more useful to a listener than a claimed neutrality nobody has. It is not a partisan show and does not pretend the technology is uncomplicated: coverage of an autonomous weapon that skips why people object to it is not coverage.

Sourcing stays with defence and industry reporting, procurement records, and manufacturer announcements — and an announcement is reported as an announcement, not as a capability. The gap between what a company says a system will do and what it has been shown to do is where most defence-technology writing goes wrong.

Output is a daily brief plus short clips, distributed to YouTube and a self-hosted podcast feed, with a hard limit on how many extra alerts a day can carry so that "urgent" continues to mean something.
